At Revive Laser Clinics, Altrinhcham we only operate medical grade lasers, including:
Alma Soprano – the industry’s gold standard for hair removal.
Do not expose the area that has been treated to sun or sun beds for at least one month after your laser treatment. It is important to apply a SPF 30+ sunscreen on a daily basis.
It is normal for pigmentation to look darker for up to three weeks following treatment. The treated areas may feel dry, flaky, and itchy. Be careful not to disturb these areas during the healing period and, in particular, do not to pick at any flakes.
Wash as usual, but avoid the use of:
Retin A or AHA Products
How does laser hair removal work?
Laser hair removal uses light to eliminate hair more effectively and for a longer period of time. The treatment involves applying a broad-spectrum light to the surface of the skin where it penetrates the hair shaft. The light is absorbed and the hair root is heated up and destroyed. The applicator is then moved to the neighbouring area of the skin and the process is repeated until the entire area is covered.
Nd:YAG is the newest type of laser in use for hair removal. It provides a safe and highly effective method of hair removal on all skin types, from light to dark. Nd:YAG lasers penetrate the skin more deeply than other lasers, avoiding damaging the epidermis and targeting the hair follicle directly.
Which areas of the body can be treated by laser hair removal?
Nearly all of the body can be treated with laser. Treatment areas include face, underarms, arms, legs, back, bikini, chest, and more!
What can I expect during my laser hair removal treatment?
We ask that all patients shave the area of treatment prior to their appointment. We will then apply a cool gel. The laser will then be positioned gently against the skin and subsequently pulses of intense light are delivered into the hairs and thus destroying the follicles.
How long does each treatment take?
Treatments can take from just 5-120 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Treatments are virtually painless and will vary patient to patient. Patients describe a range of sensations during treatment from tingling to the snapping of a rubber band.
How soon will I see the results from a laser hair removal treatment?
With any permanent hair reduction programme you will see results in 4 to 6 weeks, but this will vary depending on skin and hair colour.
How many treatments are needed?
A series of 3-8 treatments is recommended for optimal results but, every patient is different. Working together we can develop a plan that is right for you!
Why do we need multiple laser hair removal treatments to achieve results?
Our hair naturally grows in 3 different stages. All our hair is not in the same stage at the same time, so when an area is treated only a percentage of hair follicles will be affected. Therefore, to effectively reduce your unwanted hair, multiple treatments are necessary.
What type of results would I expect from laser hair removal?
You can expect to see a gradual decrease in the hair thickness and in the amount of hair present. In addition, you may also see a decrease in stubble, rashes and ingrown hairs!
Are there any side effects to laser hair removal?
Some typical side effects of laser hair removal include a mild sunburn-like sensation (redness), accompanied by some minor swelling immediately following the treatment. These effects may last a few days.
